Hello! My name is Lea Hamill, and I am a Resident Counselor in Mental Health Counseling. I am very passionate about this field and am excited to work with you to accomplish your mental health goals. My approach is client centered, meaning we will work together in all aspects to create the best process possible for you.

My work pulls from a humanistic perspective, with influence from DBT, Narrative therapy, and CBT. I also have experience with the therapeutic application of tabletop role playing games such as dungeons and dragons, I am able to perform this type of therapy with individuals and groups.

My professional experience includes working with individuals who are neurodiverse (ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder), individuals seeking trauma recovery, individuals with Anxiety, individuals with Depression, and children and teens with ODD. I also have experience working with families.

I received my Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Old Dominion University in Norfolk VA in the year 2024. I also hold a Bachelors of Science in psychology with a minor in criminal justice awarded by Old Dominion University in 2022.

Seeing the impact mental health issues have had on people close to me, including my own journey, led me to this field that I love. Witnessing the change supportive relationships can make in improving one's quality of life is profound, and something I am excited to be a part of.

When I’m not working, I enjoy traveling to national parks, creating art, practicing yoga, and playing tabletop roleplaying games with friends.
