Clinical Mental Health Student Intern (He/His)
HI, my name is Jimmy, and I’m currently interning here at Brookside Family Therapy while completing my masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at UWA.
I bring three years of professional experience in the mental health field, along with over five years of work as a coach and mentor. Before COVID, I spent years volunteering internationally, where I connected with people from many different backgrounds and cultures. Those experiences deepened my empathy, adaptability, and respect for the unique stories each person carries.
My current practice centers on individual counseling with a focus on men’s mental health, grief and hospice care, and addiction counseling, while also supporting clients through life transitions and stress management. The foundation of my work is creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where we can collaborate toward your goals. Counseling is a partnership, and real progress happens when we meet you where you are in life. Everyone has a story, and when you’re ready to share yours, I’ll be here to help you tell it.
Outside of counseling, I enjoy staying active and connected to the outdoors. Skiing and downhill biking have been longtime passions. I’ve maintained a dedicated yoga practice for over 10 years and regularly set aside time for meditation. At my core, I’m drawn to meaningful conversations about what gives life purpose and direction, exploring ideas and values that shape how we understand ourselves and the world.
Whether you’re facing grief, navigating change, or simply needing someone to listen, my goal is to walk alongside you as we work toward growth and healing.
